website roundup

Below is a list of websites that are imperative to leading a Southern Geek lifestyle. This list is always growing and changing, so please visit often to see what new places our interstellar cowboys have discovered.

ThinkGeek

ThinkGeek is obsessed with creating and sharing unique and authentic product experiences that stimulate our fans' imaginations and fuel their geek core.

Since 1999, ThinkGeek has been on a mission to create a world where everyone can embrace their inner geek and connect with one another. What started as a place for clever t-shirts and unusual gifts is now the best way to find wondrous goods that express all your passions - much of which you won't find anywhere else on Earth (or any other planet).

Shop for apparel, functional and fun home and office decor, electronics and gadgets, outdoor and survival gear, collectibles, and much more. Find the perfect gift, whether your loved one is into science or science fiction. Get things you need and things you NEED (pronounced: want). Or just prank your office mate.

Punished props

A great husband and wife team that build props and costumes together. They have many tutorial videos and links to prop making plans. Bill and Brittany primarily work in EVA foam. We've spent many a night watching their videos on how to make movie worthy costumes and props from very inexpensive items. This site is a must to check out if you are into cosplay.

BoardGameGeek

This is the essential website for information on board games. Pretty much every board game in existence is listed here. Review, comments, links for purchase. I seldom go a whole week without visiting this site. It's also a great venue to learn about a game before purchasing it.

The Esoteric Order of Gamers

These guys go the extra mile and do all the heavy lifting for us board gamers. This is the place to find board game cheat sheets and abbreviated rules print-outs to help your gaming experience go to the next level. This site is very handy when you are first learning how to play a game. Games aren't as much fun when you have to dig through a 30 page rule book to find out if your opponent has cheated.

GREAT LOCAL DFW PHOTOGRAPHERS

If you're looking for a good photographer to take a picture of you and your little space creatures, or maybe you would prefer to be prim and proper for a portrait, look no further than the two photographers below. Check out their websites. Their work speaks for itself.

THE SECRET CHAMBERS

From Pirate treasure to escaping Cthulhu, this is the best local DFW escape room. I've been there twice and had an amazing time both times. They add a level of detail that you normally won't find in other escape rooms. It's must visit for our Cowtown Geeks.
